Salvation and Holiness

Message: Outside the house

prayerJoshua 2 verse 19 “And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.” The above statement was said to Rahab by the two men sent by Joshua to spy on the land of Jericho, according to the statement the house of Rehab became the saving house, irrespective of those in the house, when Israel came against Jericho all the occupants of the house were saved. What this is telling us is that in this present age, we could see the House of Rehab as Our Lord Jesus Christ and whosoever is in Jesus is saved from sudden destruction but outside the house (Outside Jesus) is destruction and anyone who for no reason found outside the house shall pay with his own blood. Also in Revelation 11 verses 1- 2 the Bible says “and there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.” This also explained that those within the court which is the house are under angelic protection.

To be outside the house means

• To be without Jesus
• Be in the church but always not stable
• Not having Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour
• Depending on own self and understanding
• Forsaking the assembly of the children of God
• To be without the word of God
• Without the leading of the Holy spirit
• Loving the world rather than loving the things of God
• Without the fire of God
• Shallow in understanding the word of God
• Little knowledge about the kingdom of God
• Blind believer
• Deaf to the voice of God
• Do as he pleases and not as God pleases
• Following own ways rather than following the ways of the Lord
• To be over righteous, full of self and pride
• Trusting in own strength
• Not acknowledging God
• Be without the fear of the Lord
• Honouring the flesh rather than honouring the services of God
• Wandering away from his shadow

Biblical Example

In Luke 15 verses 11- 20 “And he said, A certain man had two sons: 12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. 13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. 14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. 15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. 17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. 20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”

The son left the comfort, protection and the umbrella of his father and thought within himself that he could do it without his father, but unknown to him, he had forgotten what the scripture says in John 16 verse 33 that in me you shall have peace but in the world you shall have tribulation. This man actually had tribulation to the extent that he could no longer feed himself, all that he got from his father perished with no one to help him. This man was enticed away by his own selfish ambition and his believe that with his great wealth and inheritance from his father that he has no more need of the father. I’m praying for you today that your achievements shall not take you away from the giver in the name of Jesus. Remember my beloved what the Bible says in Deuteronomy 8 verse 18 that we should always remember the Lord our God for it is he that give the ability to make wealth. Not your wisdom nor strength nor connections but God.

Things that do take men away from the house

Man by his natural instinct will not leave a comfort zone for harship but when certain external forces are in place man will do the unbelievable, man will certainly forsake the truth and embrace lies, leave a peaceful place to a place of hardship, in this section we shall be looking at things that do take man away from the house and our reference scripture is Genesis 3 verses 1- end. In this passage we saw how the serpent approached the woman, deceived her and lured her away from the truth into buying lies and the aftermath was both man and woman chased out from the garden of provision.

Genesis 3 verse 1- end , the Bible says “NOW the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. 20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. 21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. 22 ¶ And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: 23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”

In today’s world the followings have been identified as the root cause of why men are leaving the house
• deceits
• Greed
• Ignorance
• evil advise and companion
• Lust of the eyes and the flesh
• indecision
• Fear of tomorrow
• Wrong teachings and doctrine
• Lack of wisdom in the things of God
• Selfish ambition
• Achievements like educational advancement, money, fame, jobs, material acquisition, connections etc
• Pride
• Friends and family pressure
• Fighting in the church
• Inability to discern
• What man will eat, drink or put one
• Competition
• Envy of other people’s achievements
• Reliance of own strength
• Moved by sight and not by faith
• Poor understanding of the things of the spirit
• Division in the body of Christ
• False prophets and their agents
• Fake prophesies and miracles
• Powers of Darkness

When you are in the house.

You enjoy unlimited protection; have unhindered access to the throne and the power of his majesty. It is those who are in the house that can says the Lord is their light; salvation and strength, it is those who are in the house that can say He will deliver us from the attack of the enemies, it is also those who are in the house that will be protected from the sun that harms by days and the moon that hurts by night, it is those who are in the house that will enjoy protection when going out and coming in, it is also those who are in the house that will enjoy all the benefits in Psalm 91 verses 1- end which says

“he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

When you are outside the house you stand to face persecution, famine, hunger, starvation, all manners of attack, sicknesses, arrows of the enemies and even death.

Conclusion

In Revelation 22 verse 15 the Bible says “For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” KJV while the New International version says “ outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood” are you prepared for the dangers outside? Are you ready to face the murderers and the idolaters who are waiting to devour souls or are you prepared to remain in the house? Beloved the house I’ve been talking about is Jesus, a life outside of Jesus is a life of crises, a life of hopelessness and above all a life of eternal condemnation. Jesus is at the door knocking, will you let him in or will you shut him out? The answer lies in your hand, but remember your decision today will be your life tomorrow. For those that will accept Christ today eternal life and peace of the Lord is sure for them while eternal death, pains, crises and agony awaits those without Christ. The choice again is yours as Moses said unto the Israelites in Deuteronomy 30 verse 19 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:” For you to remain in the house you must surrender to the owner and the rules of the house, follow the leading of the owner of the house and be part of the house. Do you want to be part of the house? Now confess this; Lord Jesus you are the only true house, the only true God and saviour, I cannot live without you help me to remain in you and you in me, I say bye – bye to my own ways and say yes to your ways, lead me from today and be my Lord and personal saviour in Jesus mighty name I have prayed.

Message: By their fruits

Matthew 7 verses 15- 23 and Matthew 25 verses 31- 45

This message is titled “by their fruits” In Matthew 7 verses 15- 23 the Bible says “15 ¶ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 ¶ Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Lessons to learn from the scripture

– There will be false prophets, Pastors, evangelists, workers, leaders who will come to you in the name of Jesus but inwardly they are not what you think they are
– The Bible went further to say by their fruits we shall know them, a God fearing man will be known by their conducts and characters while an unbeliever will be known by their conducts as well
– Not all those who are in the presence of God and calling on his name shall enter his kingdom but those that does his will
– Many shall be cast away for not obeying and serving God on the last day.

The fruits of the believers

Man is an entity created by God and expected to bear fruits. The fruits a man will bear will be determined by the spirit leaving of the man. For the purpose of this teaching we shall be looking at the parable of Jesus in Matthew 25 verse 31- 46 “31 ¶When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

According to the scripture, God expect man to bear fruits that will qualify him for eternal life or eternal destruction. In Acts 11 verse 26 the Bible says “26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch” The Apostles were behaving like Christ; they were doing exactly like Jesus and were called Christians in Antioch.

The fruits.

For a believer to bear fruits he must have the spirit of the one he want to bear his fruits as said in Romans 8 verse 14 “14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” when you are led by spirit of the Lord you are bound to bear the fruit of the spirit as stated in Galatians 5 verses 16- 23 “16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Believers
Love, Joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance

Unbelievers
Adultery, Fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murder, drunkenness and revelling

Do you know that many that are called Christians are not; do you know that many that are called prophets are not? For you to be called a true child of God you must be bearing the above fruits expected of the believers or bearing the fruits expected of the unbelievers.

Consequences of your actions

All actions taken by man has its consequences, for those bearing the fruit of the spirit, heaven is their reward while those bearing the fruits of the flesh; eternal condemnation awaits them. The Bible says in Matthew 3 verse 10 “ And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”

Altar call: is there anything in you that does not qualifies you as a believer? Are you struggling with sin? Take it to Jesus, call on him and he will answer you and give you an expected end…………….
